It is almost strange to think that just one month ago, nearly 1,400 members of the independent school community gathered in Orlando at the 2020 NBOA Annual Meeting. So much has happened to our schools and the world at large since then. The relationships we developed there and elsewhere, however, will help us make it through professionally. As an association, NBOA will continue to share ideas and resources to enable our schools to survive and thrive, and we encourage you to reach out to colleagues via NBOA Connect or other means for answers and support.
Session recordings, slide decks and handouts for all learning sessions have been uploaded to the Annual Meeting library.
The shots below recap highlights of the meeting, including two Senior Leaders Seminars, the opening reception, general addresses by broadcaster Soledad O’Brien, magician and entrepreneur Vinh Giang and psychologist and author Lisa Damour, as well as dozens of concurrent and Deep Dive sessions. Attendees came together through fitness activities and a volunteer project with Hands On Orlando, where attendees assembled snack packs for local children and their families living with food insecurity.
The 2021 NBOA Annual Meeting will be February 21-24 at New York Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York, NY. The call for programs to submit an idea for a session will be open May 1-31. For details, stay tuned to nboa.org and nboaannualmeeting.org. In the meantime, may you and your school communities stay safe and well connected virtually, if not face-to-face. #Leadership
