(from Fortune) A majority of adults value a company’s culture above salary in regard to job satisfaction, according to a recent survey from Glassdoor. The survey indicated that 70% of job seekers would not apply to a company unless it aligned with their personal values. The results also suggest that culture matters significantly more among millennials, which the survey defined as people 18-34 years old, than those age 45 and older.
Responses represent a broader trend that company mission is top of mind for job seekers; 77% of adults believe employers are becoming more mission-driven to recruit and retain talent. This data point highlights the importance for employers to clearly define and communicate their values, as well as demonstrating these values in the day-to-day environment. This survey polled 5,000 people across four countries, the U.S., U.K., France and Germany.
