Former congresswoman Gabby Giffords and retired astronaut Mark Kelly will kick off the 2019 NBOA Annual Meeting Sunday in San Diego, setting the stage for a three-day professional development and learning event attracting independent school CFOs, heads of school and other business and operational leaders from across the U.S. and beyond. With registration well over 1,400 two days in advance, the event will be NBOA’s largest ever. The conference theme, “Riding the Waves of Change,” reflects the economic, demographic and technological challenges facing independent schools, along with strategies schools can leverage to ride them out.
Held at the Marriott Marquis San Diego, the event includes more than 60 75-minute concurrent sessions in six areas (accounting, finance and tax; business operations; executive leadership; facilities; human resources; risk management) as well as 49 brief “goldmine” sessions in the same tracks.
Here’s a closer look at some of what attendees have in store:
(Sunday, March 3, noon-4 p.m. - separate registration required)
(Tuesday, March 5, 3:45-5:15 p.m.)
