Tech Like VR, AI May Transform Schools

By Net Assets posted 6 days ago

(from Entrepreneur) Five technologies may transform schools in the future, projects Peter Diamandis, co-founder of Silicon Valley think tank.

  1. Virtual realityResearch has shown that we remember 20 percent of what we hear, 30 percent of what we see, and up to 90 percent of what we do or simulate. Virtual reality enables students to do or simulate.
  2. 3D printers: These can help students learn core STEM principles by enabling students to touch and feel and create their own designs.
  3. Sensors and networks: A profusion of sensors could monitor, measure and communicate students' drifting attention or confusion, prompting a different speed or type of instruction.
  4. Machine learning: This could enable education applications to personalize lessons, quizzes, flashcards, textbooks, etc.
  5. Artificial intelligence: AI could power educational platforms that answer a learner’s questions, monitor his or her actions and provide feedback.
